{"id":5290,"date":"2025-07-16T00:11:52","date_gmt":"2025-07-16T00:11:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/orbis.management\/?p=5290"},"modified":"2025-07-16T00:14:17","modified_gmt":"2025-07-16T00:14:17","slug":"u-s-agricultural-exports-opportunities-amidst-global-shifts","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/orbis.management\/es\/2025\/07\/16\/u-s-agricultural-exports-opportunities-amidst-global-shifts\/","title":{"rendered":"U.S. Agricultural Exports: Opportunities Amidst Global Shifts"},"content":{"rendered":"<div data-elementor-type=\"wp-post\" data-elementor-id=\"5290\" class=\"elementor elementor-5290\" data-elementor-post-type=\"post\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<section class=\"elementor-section elementor-top-section elementor-element elementor-element-e465eb2 elementor-section-boxed elementor-section-height-default elementor-section-height-default\" data-id=\"e465eb2\" data-element_type=\"section\" data-e-type=\"section\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-container elementor-column-gap-default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-column elementor-col-100 elementor-top-column elementor-element elementor-element-b7c1a64\" data-id=\"b7c1a64\" data-element_type=\"column\" data-e-type=\"column\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-wrap elementor-element-populated\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-89469d7 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"89469d7\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>Based on the projected changes presented in the <a href=\"https:\/\/apps.fas.usda.gov\/psdonline\/circulars\/production.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Foreign Agricultural Service\u2019s World Agricultural Production Circular<\/a> for major crops and the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fas.usda.gov\/data\/2024-agricultural-export-outlook\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">USDA 2024 Agricultural Export Outlook<\/a>, we expect several U.S. export industries to benefit:<\/p>\n\n<h2>Corn<\/h2>\n<p>Global coarse-grain production is projected to increase to <strong>1,547.1 million metric tons (mmt)<\/strong> for the 2025\/26 season (<a href=\"https:\/\/apps.fas.usda.gov\/psdonline\/circulars\/production.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">World Agricultural Production Report, July 2025<\/a>).<\/p>\n\n<p>Despite Brazil experiencing a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/markets\/commodities\/brazil-corn-exports-climb-soy-shipments-slow-june-2024-07-02\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">bumper corn crop<\/a> for 2024\/25, robust domestic demand for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.feedstrategy.com\/feed-production\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">animal feed<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.iea.org\/reports\/renewables-2023\/biofuels\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ethanol production in Brazil<\/a> is expected to reduce its exportable supplies. This expected market tightening creates conducive conditions for strong <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ers.usda.gov\/topics\/crops\/corn\/market-outlook\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">U.S. corn exports<\/a> on the world market.<\/p>\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.fas.usda.gov\/data\/mexico-grain-and-feed-annual-2024\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Mexico\u2019s corn production<\/a> is estimated to be down 10% from the 5-year average, with yields declining due to poor crop conditions in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.agriland.ie\/farming-news\/maize-crop-conditions-decline-in-key-producing-regions-of-mexico\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Sinaloa<\/a>, a key corn-producing region. As <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fas.usda.gov\/data\/grain-world-markets-and-trade\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Mexico remains the top U.S. corn export market<\/a>, this reduced domestic production, combined with Brazil\u2019s domestic focus, should sustain robust U.S. corn exports.<\/p>\n\n<h2>Wheat<\/h2>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ers.usda.gov\/topics\/crops\/wheat\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">World wheat production<\/a> for 2025\/26 is projected to increase to 808.6 mmt.<\/p>\n\n<p>U.S. exportable supplies are supported by a larger <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nass.usda.gov\/Publications\/Todays_Reports\/reports\/wtrc0624.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">planted area for winter wheat<\/a> and ample <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ers.usda.gov\/data-products\/wheat-data\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ending stocks<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.fas.usda.gov\/data\/wheat-world-markets-and-trade\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">U.S. wheat exports<\/a> are likely to remain strong in South America and will compete in Asian markets with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.agriculture.gov.au\/abares\/research-topics\/agricultural-commodities\/wheat\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Australian wheat<\/a>. Demand growth in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fao.org\/3\/cb4479en\/cb4479en.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Africa<\/a>, the Middle East, and Southeast Asia supports long-term U.S. export opportunities despite global supply increases.<\/p>\n\n<h2>Soybeans<\/h2>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/apps.fas.usda.gov\/psdonline\/circulars\/oilseeds.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Global oilseed production<\/a> is projected to hit 693.5 mmt, driven by record <a href=\"https:\/\/www.brazilsoybeans.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Brazil soybean output<\/a> and a recovery in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fas.usda.gov\/data\/argentina-oilseeds-and-products-annual-2024\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Argentina\u2019s production<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n<p>While strong global supply may pressure prices, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ers.usda.gov\/topics\/crops\/soybeans-oil-crops\/market-outlook\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">U.S. soybean exports<\/a> are forecast to rise due to larger domestic production and growing global demand for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.statista.com\/statistics\/263978\/global-oilseed-production-since-2008\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">oilseeds<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n<h2>Pork and Pork Products<\/h2>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ers.usda.gov\/webdocs\/outlooks\/108956\/livestock-meat-domestic-and-international-markets.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">global swine industry<\/a> is rebalancing post-ASF outbreaks in China.<\/p>\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/ec.europa.eu\/info\/sites\/default\/files\/food-farming-fisheries\/farming\/documents\/short-term-outlook-spring-2024_en.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">EU pork production<\/a> is expected to decline, opening doors for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fas.usda.gov\/data\/livestock-and-poultry-world-markets-and-trade\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">U.S. pork exports<\/a> in price-sensitive markets like China and Japan.<\/p>\n\n<p>Although <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/markets\/commodities\/brazil-pork-exports-hit-record-june-2024-07-04\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Brazil remains a low-cost supplier<\/a>, rising export prices from Brazil may give U.S. pork exports a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nppc.org\/issues\/trade\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">competitive price advantage<\/a> in 2025.<\/p>\n\n<h2>Ethanol (Non-Beverage)<\/h2>\n<p>While not directly tied to crop volumes, <a href=\"https:\/\/ethanolrfa.org\/statistics\/exports\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">U.S. ethanol exports<\/a> benefit from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.iea.org\/reports\/renewables-2023\/biofuels\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Brazil\u2019s biofuels market<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.globalbioenergy.org\/biofuels-platform\/policies\/americas\/brazil\/detail\/en\/c\/282\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">blending mandates<\/a>, which limit their export surplus.<\/p>\n\n<p>U.S. ethanol export growth is expected to continue as foreign demand rises, particularly in countries adopting <a href=\"https:\/\/ww2.arb.ca.gov\/our-work\/programs\/low-carbon-fuel-standard\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">low-carbon fuel standards<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n<h2>Dairy Products (Cheese and Butterfat)<\/h2>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.usdairyexporter.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Dairy exports on a milk-fat basis<\/a> are forecast to increase in 2025, driven by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fas.usda.gov\/data\/dairy-world-markets-and-trade\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">cheese and butter exports<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n<p>New processing capacity in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hoardstairymen.com\/article-33183-california-dairy-producers-add-processing-capacity.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">California and the Midwest<\/a> ensures ample supply. Growth markets in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fas.usda.gov\/regions\/latin-america-and-caribbean\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Central and South America<\/a> present expanding demand for U.S. dairy exports.<\/p>\n\n<h2>Processed Food<\/h2>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.fas.usda.gov\/topics\/processed-products\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">U.S. processed food exports<\/a> are projected to grow with rising incomes and urbanization.
